Story with David Bowie

It was May 23, 1995, in Soho, NYC. I was having my solo show at the Cast Iron Gallery. Mr. David Bowie and his friend walked into the gallery. I didn’t notice him at first, but my friend whispered, “He looks like David Bowie.” I didn’t believe it, so I didn’t turn around.
Later, the gallery director introduced me to him, and he said, “Hi, I’m David.” You can imagine how surprised I was! He liked two of my pieces and purchased them on the spot. We talked for more than half an hour at the gallery.
After that, I stayed in touch with him. In the spring of 1998, he called me at my studio in Philadelphia and asked if I’d be interested in being featured as an artist on his website. I thought it was a great idea, so I brought some slides and my resume saved on a floppy disk to his music studio in Manhattan.
The website, www.bowieart.com, has since been updated and changed, so you can’t see it anymore—but this is what it looked like back then.

Hiro was on a TV show called "Arizona ilustrated"
It was on the air on 2000.
Hiro likes to share the experience of Traditional wood Firing. He built one in his college in 2006, then college took it down and invited Fred Olsen to rebuild the wood kiln in the same size in the same spot.
